Public Services Director:Directly manage the Public Services Department consisting of 11 employees. Department includes Water and Wastewater treatment facilities, Streets, Stormwater, Sanitation and Parks and Recreation. Develops annual budget, tracks and implements capital improvement projects and fleet management, manages water and wastewater treatment plant operations, coordinates and reviews street projects and repairs, develops and recommends park improvements and long-term maintenance, implements City events, reviews policies and recommends modifications and new policy implementation, and is the liaison to residents for city projects. Projects include $2.3M 74,000 sq. ft. indoor BMX facility; acquisition of 38-acres of state land for a natural park with trails, river access and community garden; watermain extension; $1.9M wastewater plant upgrade; implemented a staffed compost facility. Administrative and Personnel:Annual staff performance reviews and coaching, assists in employee selection process, administered contracted services, policy and ordinance reviews and code revisions, revision of old lease agreements and origination of new lease agreements, collective bargaining IUOE, Local 49ers and assisted in the restructuring of the Public Works Department. Finance:Develop annual budget for Public Services Department and review of other department’s budgetary needs, reviews all department capital outlay requests, reviews and assists with capital improvement project scheduling.
