In this position, I supervised and instructed groups of 15 young children over two-week periods. I also instructed a variety of activities including music, track and field, and chess to 80 kids per day. A supportive staff combined with observing growth in myself and others is what made this job so rewarding. This is a seasonal position, occurring in both the Summer and Winter. Soccer Coach
-
Jun 2017 - Nov 2018
Albany-Berkeley Soccer Club (ABSC) is a non-profit organization that aims to provide youth with opportunities to learn and play soccer. During the school year, they host a series of clinics and train both recreational and competitive teams. In the Summer, they hold soccer development camps for kids 4-12 years old. I was a coach for the Summer youth camps of 2017 and 2018. As one of the youngest coaches on the staff, my job consisted of working with campers individually and supporting my colleagues to ensure that lessons ran smoothly. When there were staff shortages, I was provided with the opportunity to construct my own lesson plans and lead a group. In the Fall of 2018, I continued coaching soccer to young kids 4 hours each week for 10 weeks via clinics. Show less

Paid Intern
-
Jun 2018 - Aug 2018
Now called Human Design, Zenergy Bar was a start-up in my hometown of Berkeley. Their mission was to encourage a mindful lifestyle by creating a marriage between healthy food and wellness. This was accomplished by producing and distributing raw, organic, gluten-free, vegan, and fairtrade energy bars, as well as hosting mindfulness events such as yoga. Throughout my internship, I learned a great deal about the food industry and what starting a company might entail. Now called Human Design, Zenergy Bar was a start-up in my hometown of Berkeley.
