Supervised final asphalt construction evaluation acceptance and warranty testing using laser based technology including: 3 point, 5 point, LRMS, and LCMS systems. Conducted, analyzed, and reported material acceptance, falling weight deflectometer (FWD), cross slope, grade, and smoothness for FDOT. Conducted various research studies to help determine influential factors that effect the overall smoothness of a newly constructed and existing roadway.

      * I-15 Utah: Designed the Utah I-15 point of the mountain reconstruction project which extended for a 7-8 mile stretch. Multiple designs, including sections of an unbonded overlay, whitetopping, and reconstruction on both the mainlines, ramps, and cross-streets. A 40 year design life, able to withstand substantial traffic loads and adverse weather condition, was successfully shown . * Intermodal Yard. Used finite element analysis (ISLAB) and appropriate stress ratios to determine the necessary pavement thickness to withstand extremely high front axle loading for transport of multiple large shipping containers at once. * Airport Pavement. Used finite element analysis to determine if the existing runway structural capacity could support the emergency landing of an oversized aircraft. Pavement Evaluation and Testing*Network Structural Evaluation: Led Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) testing for the entire Illinois Tollway network. Work included scheduling, organizing, testing, backcalculating deflection data, and delivering report. *Maintenance Quality Assurance: Led quality assurance program for the maintenance yards of the Illinois Tollway. The program focuses on rating Tollway maintenance efforts for the following assets: drainage, roadside, traffic/safety, and pavement. *MIT-Scan Testing Illinois Tollway and O'Hare Airport: Responsible for dowel alignment verification on newly constructed runway at Chicago O'Hare airport. Tasks included field testing using MIT-Scan, data analysis, and reporting. *Longitudinal Tining Evaluation, Illinois Tollway: Provided tining measurements for location on the Tollway. Analyzed data and provided a report recommending ways to improve initial tining efforts and to correct skid resistance issues. Show less
