During elections I staff polling stations and take part in the verification and counting of ballots. In staffing the polling station my duties include verifying the electoral register and logging ballots cast, following confidentiality and secrecy guidelines, adhering to security measures and morning set up and evening close down procedures. While counting I am responsible for verifying, sorting and counting ballots cast and inspecting disputed and spoiled ballots. I am also required to log data and keep accurate records. I have supervised a class of Politics A-Level students participating in the count.

In the run up to the 2015 General Election I was based in the constituency office for Northampton North. My role was split between; campaigning duties, such as preparing materials, volunteer recruitment and management and data collection; and more general office work such as data entry and analysis, handling correspondence and enquiries and drafting newsletters and social media content. Here I was tasked with building relationships with stakeholders, media monitoring and event planning. I also attended a residential training course on digital campaigning techniques which included training in specialist software such as NationBuilder, website building, HTML and social media techniques and strategies.
