Worked for the Allen lab on various projects as part of the URS program offered by UCSD. Primarily focused on co-authoring research paper tracking the microbial communities of local San Diego fish species. Work involved capture and preparation of specimens, finding sources to inform our paper, and interacting with local charter captains to acquire fish samples. Worked in the biology department's Yelon Lab. Primary duties involved raising and maintaining zebrafish for genetic/developmental research at two different locations. Work involved egg collection, larval fish rearing, fish spawning, life support system monitoring/maintenance, collaboration with lab members and other labs, fluorescent microscopy, and CRISPR.
