Lab Technician/Quality Assurance – As Quality Assurance my primary duties are to ensure finished products meet internal and customer specifications, such as ASTM, in accordance with our process developed under ISO 9001:2008 and 13845. Responsibilities consist of: • Incoming (raw) material inspection • Pre and post extrusion checks on plastic resin and final extruded shapes • Verifying material characteristics, dimensional tolerances, and visual appeal • Testing for specific properties using destructive and non-destructive testing techniques with instruments that include: o Instron 4469 for testing mechanical characteristics o FTIR used for material identification and validation o DSC for identifying thermal characteristics o Ultrasound Flaw Detector for examining flaws in finished plastic shapes o Other common lab equipment such as scales, hot plates, and beakers. • Managing all manufacturing QA equipment for calibration record keeping and repair. • Preformed process standardization by developing procedures to meet accreditation requirements to obtain ISO 9001:2008 for International Quality Management Standard and 13845 for Medical Devices Quality Management Systems status. • Root cause analysis to solve customer Return Materials Authorization, (RMA’s) and findings from internal audit.
