Working with another graduate student of Neag's School of Education, we were given the task to develop a curriculum from the expansive Boots archive that could be used by History teachers in England. We spent time looking through advertisements from the inception of Boots in 1854 to the present day in order to recognize how public perceptions of Public Health had changed throughout the 20th century. To complete this task we used AQA guidelines to help us discover ways in which we could integrate these advertisements into the curriculum. Show less

With another Secondary Social Studies colleague, we were given tasks to help further develop the school's History curriculum. Tasks included looking over and editing the Slavery unit of the school's curriculum, creating quizzes that would help supplement learning of the American West and History of Medicine and also finding research articles that would help A-level students to further look at history and historians with a critical eye. We also were tasked with creating lessons using the England National curriculum and teaching these lessons 1-2 times a week to students aged 11-18. This was useful as it allowed us to further develop our understanding of cultural differences between the UK and the US when it comes to academic learning and classroom management as well as allowing us to grow in our methods of teaching.
