Hall Brothers Technology utilizes a workflow incorporating the latest in Infrastructure Visualization, Civil Design, and Drone Technology in order to promote Stakeholder and Community involvement. Our workflow includes gathering geospatial data through sUAS acquisition, processing that data, obtaining point cloud information for use in 3D modeling software. Modeling Proposed Infrastructure viewable with Microsoft HoloLens then manipulating that model with voice commands created through Unity in an effort to best match the proposed infrastructure alternative to the existing environment. Over the past few years, drones have become central to the functions of various businesses and governmental organizations and have managed to pierce through areas where certain industries were either stagnant or lagging behind. As the use of Models and intelligent 3D design become more commonplace in large and small civil engineering and community oriented projects, so will the services of Hall Brothers Technology.

I am grateful to have worked with incredible people on a wide variety of projects during my time with Kimley-Horn. Some of them are listed below:Front Range Airport, Watkins, CO — UAS Pilot. I was a member of the KHA Team which conducted a UAS-based survey of approximately 500 acres of the airport. The project was a successful use of drones within airport airspace. Deliverables included aerial imagery, a point cloud model, and orthomosaic imagery. ADOT SR 101L (Chaparral Road to SR 202L) General Purpose Lanes Design, Scottsdale, AZ — Project EngineerI helped design for the additional general purpose lane capacity on the Pima Freeway (SR 101L) between Chaparral Road and SR 202L. The project scope included roadway design, drainage design, traffic control, lighting, traffic design, survey, structural engineering, landscape aesthetics, erosion control, utilities, and public involvement support. I modeled the entire project, over 5 miles, and presented the virtual visualizations to both ADOT and SRPMIC and other stakeholders for approval. Skyline Park Phase I, Watson Road and Interior Park Roads, Buckeye, AZ – Roadway Design Lead Final design of the Phase 1 improvements according to the Skyline Regional Park Master Plan, including an access roadway, internal roadways, two trailhead parking areas, an entry gate house, camping and picnic areas, a pedestrian bridge, and associated park elements. I was the roadway design lead and project engineer for the project. I was responsible for design, preparation of plans, specifications, and estimate for the construction of the park. Significant coordination efforts were required for both on-site drainage improvements with FCDMC and right-of-way determination with ASLD. From the 3D engineering models, I created design visualizations that were used at city council meetings to show people what to expect prior to construction. After construction, we conducted a sUAS-based survey of the finished project.

I joined T.Y. Lin International (TYLI) as a Design Engineer in 2007. I worked on both public and private sector projects throughout Arizona and the United States. My responsibilities at TYLI included roadway/bridge design, traffic engineering and drainage design. My TYLI projects include the following:Crossroads East Stormwater Modeling & Engineering Services, City of ScottsdaleThe purpose of the CRE Project was to identify the extent of flooding problems affecting public safety, residents and property owners within the study area. The project addressed the needs of three primary stakeholders, the City of Scottsdale, the Arizona State Land Department and the Flood Control District of Maricopa County. Galveston Street Bicycle and Pedestrian Bridge, City of ChandlerI was the lead design engineer in the development of concepts for this new bridge that has since been constructed over SR 101L between Ray Road and Chandler Blvd. Three concepts were developed: cable tied arch, steel box truss, and steel parabolic box girders. Alternatives included ADA compliance with wall aesthetics and estimates for total construction costs.Red Mountain Freeway (SR 202L) Bridge Widenings, ADOTI was a Design Engineer for this high-priority project. The Red Mountain Freeway (SR 202L) is a heavily traveled urban freeway. The Mill Avenue Overpass is a seven span mainline structure in the City of Tempe . I-10, Replacement Tangerine Traffic Interchange, Westcor/ADOT/Marana, AZI served as the Engineer responsible for the design, preparation of plans, specifications, and estimate for the construction of a new diamond interchange on Interstate 10 in Marana, Arizona. Reviewing agencies included FHWA, ADOT and the Town of Marana. My responsibilities included ramp design, crossroad design, drainage design, value engineering, utility coordination, traffic engineering, signing and pavement marking, cost estimate, earthwork report, and specifications.
