  My role has been to help students to prepare for their GCSE maths and physics exams. In order to adapt to each student’s ability and what they respond best to, tutoring has taught me to be flexible in my teaching style and to explain complicated concepts in an accessible way.   As president, I had full responsibility for running all aspects of the club. I led a team of 13 which took care of the day to day training, as well as the management of the club. My responsibilities included:• Drawing up and managing a budget of around £100,000 • Working with Brasenose College and its alumni network to secure a large donation• Organising termly dinners for rowers and a dinner for 50 alumni and 30 students• Hiring two new coaches• Organising two training camps for 25 people including transport, accommodation, coaching and budgeting• Purchasing two new boats and new racking for the boathouse; total expenditure £85,000• Selling two boats• Organising major repair work of one boat• Ensuring compliance with all relevant British Rowing and Environment Agency regulations• Meeting with trustees of the club’s associated charity to explain the decisions taken as a club and our long term plans Show less

  I worked with other club captains to organise the day to day running of the club. Primarily, this involved training an initial group of over 50 interested novice athletes up to racing standard through weekly training schedules across a range of abilities, in liaison with professional coaches.

  During the early stages of the pandemic, I worked for Tescos to cover for vulnerable staff who were not able to work. I worked early morning shifts picking products from the shelves for distribution to online order customers. Combining 20 hours per week with full time studying taught me to manage my time efficiently. In the role, I had to carefully plan the schedule of moving goods from store to click & collect delivery station to ensure they were available at the required time, while making sure the station was always sufficiently staffed.
