      As the only mathematics instructor at Hawaii Tokai International College (HTIC) taught all math courses. Courses include Survey of Mathematics, and Pre-calculus. Most students native Japanese speakers (ESL). Provide engaging, challenging student-led discussions. Built curriculum and completely designed Pre-calculus and Survey Of Mathematics courses and curriculum. Despite ESL environment, pushed student knowledge beyond American standards. Worked with the International Program to deliver math workshops on occasion. After over two years of working at HTIC I was offered a full time position, however I left in pursuit of a Masters of Mathematics. Currently teaching Summer session only.

Communicated with parents and students regularly for academic progress.Diversified lessons and lectures with creative questioning, discussions, and repetition, which resulted in high-interest, enjoyable learning experience.Challenged all students with differing abilities by providing many levels of difficulty throughout lessons and tests, continually checking for understanding, and by finding students’ personal motivations. Worked closely with parents, communicating with them on a regular basis and conducting mid semester student-parent-teacher conferences to keep them informed of their child’s successes and challenges.
