I am directly responsible for developing content and instructional strategies for the Computer, Network and Security Technician courses. I evaluate both secondary and post-secondary students against Aurora School District, Colorado Community College System and CompTIA standards without bias or favoritism. I manage the classroom and control course pace and flow according to students needs and course length. I maximize hands on performance and use best practice, including effective questioning techniques, graphical organizers, reading and writing activities to determine student understanding. I work with students, parents, the school district and multiple entities outside the school to arrange for, monitor and improve internship and job opportunities for students. I manage, maintain, troubleshoot, install, operate and configure a complex computer, network and security infrastructure in the classroom. I prepare training aids, design and configure a learning management system and integrate these aids and knowledge into a classroom experience that motivates students and produces great technicians and better citizens.
