During my internship at Turtle Home Solutions LLP, I had the opportunity to work on a significant project involving the detailed preparation of a project report for the Kulapully Kanayam Road in Shornoor Municipality. This road, spanning 3 km, required extensive data collection and analysis. Under the guidance of the Managing Director and Chief Surveyor, I actively participated in road data collection tasks such as DCPT, Sand Replacement, inventory data collection, hydraulic and structural investigation of existing structures, and soil collection for CBR tests. Additionally, I assisted the Chief Surveyor in surveying the road using a total station. The work was challenging, especially considering the tireless effort required during the scorching summer days. Nonetheless, this internship provided me with invaluable practical experience and enhanced my understanding of road construction and surveying techniques. Show less

The Kerala Shipping & Inland Navigation Corporation Ltd (KSINC) is a government of Kerala undertaking that is involved in fields of transportation, backwater tourism, construction, and maintenance of vessels and crafts, and bunkering services. The company operates a fleet of barges that carry bulk materials, potable water, petroleum products, acids, and other materials. KSINC has experience in the construction of passenger boats, speed boats, house boats, tourist boats, and small seagoing vessels using wood, steel, or FRP. The company also offers tourist boats and speed boats for backwater tourism and operates a sailing resort named "Lake Princess." As an intern I observed the construction of bored cast in situ marine pile for the construction of a boat terminal for the luxury vessel "Nefretti," including pile positions, installation of temporary casing, reinforcement, and pouring of concrete. Also worked in the filing section and was responsible for organizing files related to all constructions under KSINC. I learned about the procedures for a government civil work, including site inspection, preparation of an estimate, tendering process, and work proceedings. Show less
