I developed enterprise software for companies like DirecTV dealers, schools, bars, medicine doctors, clinics, ecommerce and a range of differents bussines. In such process, I transformed tens of them by automating their process, service, sells, payments, and many more. The vast mayority of the software I deliver was included with Hosting service, it give me another field of knowledge, I tested a couple of Hosting companies (Hostgator, Godaddy, Hostgo, Hurrican Electric, Colombia Hosting), I can't remember one where I didn't send a ticket with the problem and solution (bad linux/mysql/php configs, optimizations, security, etc). 8 Years after, in January 2015 I founded nobilesoft.com as Nobilesoft S.A.S (S.A.S is similar to a c-corp). From January 2015 to May 2015, we develop an great improve to a enterprise software, such software was deployed in AWS because the need of elastic and easy infraestructure administration, but it didn't happen, I met with enginers directly from AWS Latam in a AWS Summit, I detailed the issue, basicly spikes -> downtime, because instances take 5-10 minutes to deploy, they explained me the same issue happen with Netflix when need to transcode video, the propossed solution: Scale the infraestructure manually.
