Internship as an Interfaith Chaplain at Hoag Hospital, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Fred Smoot, was one of the most educational, meaningful, and motivational experiences I’ve ever had!

I feel very fortunate for the gift of my CPE experience at Hoag Hospital. It was January - May of 2018. One week later, after a very bad accident on May 30, on my beloved Ducati Scrambler - motorcycle vs car, I ended up in I.C.U. for four months. Talk about turning the tables of my world! The four month hospital stay took my Chaplaincy Internship to an even deeper meaning and understanding. I’ve also just completed two months of Medical Leave of Absence due to a “Severe Traumatic Brain Injury,” healing for my entire body which effected every part of my body from skull to ankles (exception of right hand and arm), and a paralyzed left arm and hand. The journey continues. And in case you haven’t learned this fur yourself, I do argue that for some of us, it is about both, the journey AND the destination!Come along... follow me!
