Evidence for HIV Prevention in Southern Africa (EHPSA) is a four-year programme (2014-2018), funded by UK Aid from the United Kingdom’s Department for International Development (DIFD) and Sweden. The programme supports more effective and efficient HIV prevention in southern and eastern Africa through generating evidence of what works and why, promoting relationship between policy makers and academics, and supporting civil society to analyse and address structural barriers to HIV prevention. The programme specifically targets some of the most vulnerable populations – adolescents, prisoners and the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) community. I am accountable for capacity building of policy makers to assess and utilize evidence in policy and decision making and for the implementation of a grant system for civil society to address the structural drivers of HIV in the region.
