Qualcomm FPGA Senior Project

Aug 2020 - May 2021
A vast majority of universities do not provide adequate hardware development experience for undergraduate engineering students, despite the increasing demand for such skills in the semiconductor industry. This project aims to remedy this disparity by proposing a novel approach to university-level FPGA projects, utilizing development boards provided by an industry sponsor to explore fundamental HDL-based concepts not normally covered in an academic setting. Industry practices such as setting up an emulation environment and testing a DUT are explored, relevant timing and performance challenges are emphasized. Project effectiveness and student engagement is studied for further improvements. The documentation website link is supplied below in the attachment.
