• Provide holistic academic advising and mentoring to a caseload consisting of 151 students, including assisting them with course selection, registration guideline as required by the program, academic skills assessment, goal setting, core curriculum, academic major selection and basic financial literacy.• Track and monitor student academic progress through the early warning system (C2) and perform needed intervention as recommended by the faculty. • Develop content materials for group advisement sessions and student enrichment workshops as well as facilitate these sessions as needed. • Support the department’s recruitment goals by facilitating Info Sessions, meeting with prospective students to evaluate their academic and career goals, and assist in the planning of the New Student Orientation• Assist in the planning and logistics of programming (Town Hall Meetings, Honors Recognition Ceremony) to recognize academic achievement and connect students to academic and professional opportunities such as merit-based scholarships, Columbia G S, Sister Colleges, Honors Program, Phi Theta Kappa International Honors Society (PTK), President Society and experiential learning • Perform degree evaluation and design academic plan to ensure that students complete their degree within three years. • Connect students to campus resources and work closely with the Career and Employment Specialist to ensure that students become more aware of their skills and pursue careers that meet their interests and skills. • Collaborate with the Honors Program and the Phi Theta Kappa International Honors Society to engage and motivate students to pursue academic excellence.
