(Radars, ECDIS, GPS, Eco sounder, speed log, anemometer, VHF, MF-HF RADIOS, GMDSS EQUIPMENTS like AIS, SART, VHF SURVIVAL RADIO, EPIRB, NAVTEX. The use, records and performance of this equipment’s are under my responsibility as navigation officer. ALDIS LAMP ON DECK: Also is under my responsibility the maintenance and keep records of the following equipment’s LIFE SAVING APPLIANCE AND FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENTS. LIFE SAVING APPLIANCES INCLUDES: - Rescue Boat, Life boat - Pyrotechnics keep them up to date and well use of them and their instructions. - Immersion suit - Life jackets - Life raft keep hydrostatic release and status of the life raft up to date. - EEBDS FIRE FIGHTING APPLIANCE: Maintenance and records of the following equipment’s: - Hydrants, Fire boxes (hoses, couplings , nozzles, gaskets and spanners completed and in good conditions.) - Extinguishers maintenance and records - CO2 (operation system) - Water mist ( operation system) - Fireman’s Outfit to have all their parts in good conditions, mask maintenance and cylinders with their corrects pressure. CARGO OPERATION: - Always under Chief mate supervision in charge of ballast during loading and offloading operations. - Cargo operation watch following stowage plans for loading and offloading by chief mate. HOSPITAL - In charge of all medical equipment’s on board. - Medicines on board, to keep them always update and not expired. MANEUVERS During berthing and unbreathing maneuvers my position is at stern, having direct communication with master and in charge of all what is happening in our stern. Show less
