A major part of the Hydrographic Institute’s operational tasks is assigned to the Hydrographic Brigades. At sea or ashore, they execute hydrographic and topographic surveys with the following purposes: - Acquisition of georeferenced data: MBES/SBES/GNSS/Level/Total Station; - Processing the acquired information, ensuring a thorough QC. As the party chief, other responsibilities include: - Ensure the correct preparation for the survey (logistics, study of previous works done in the survey area, installation and calibration of all equipment and sensors); - Establishing a local network for coastal/harbour surveys (Installing DGNSS RTK reference stations and tide gauges and conducting geometric levelings); - Reporting the progress of the work during the survey and writing a full report upon its completion; - Processing the acquired data and creating the final products to be delivered to the client. Equipment used: - MBES/INS: Kongsberg; - SBES: Teledyne; - GNSS receivers: Trimble; - Level/TS: Leica.
