Project title: Involvement of proteins associated with dystroglycanopathies in the pathogenesis of human brain tumors. At the beginning of this work stage, I began by finishing outlining the results obtained in the master's thesis. Later, the project changed slightly by focusing on a different biological tissue: human glioblastoma multiforme cell cultures. As a new material, it was necessary to optimize and adapt the procedures and the knowledge acquired to the specific characteristics of human tumor cells. Additionally, I have acquired skills in cell culture, immunocytochemistry, and extractions of biological material for molecular biology studies. Show less

Project title: Analysis of mammalian retinas using immunohistochemistry and Western blotting techniques. During this period I developed my technical knowledge. In addition, I acquired and assimilated the work methodology in the workplace. Thanks to the time invested, I was able to carry out a high-quality master's thesis, the results of which were later presented at the II Interdisciplinary Congress of Human Genetics.

In these months I perfected my skills on spectrophotometric quantifications and became professionally familiar with the key reagents of a biotechnological/chemical laboratory. In addition, I was able to collaborate in the progress of current research by optimizing a total quantification method for iron nanoparticles through the formation of complexes with phenanthroline.
