Member of the UK's top electric formula student team. Check out our new website for more information with regards to our team!https://www.teambathracingelectric.com/I am currently involved in the development of the vehicle dynamics sub-assembly for the TBre21 vehicle. More specifically, my role within the team includes designing the new braking system and pedal box which will be later manufactured in early 2021, prior to competing in FSUK in summer 2021.My roles included performing extensive CAD work and detailed calculations to accurately select the components required from some top UK motorsport suppliers. Thorough FEA and thermal simulation work was required to ensure the reliability of the braking system under heavy braking and torque calculations including weight transfer, aerodynamic downforce at maximum speeds was required in order to determine the adequate brake bias of the vehicle for stable and safe braking. The new pedal box needed to incorporate an ergonomically suitable design that would enable the driver to comfortably drive under pressure. Also, the main aim was for the structure to ensure it would pass any scruiteneering procedures (heavy loading, oil leakage, etc) so FEA was required to model this scenarios. Finally, to obtain the most cost-efficient solution for manufacturing, material selection analysis was also done and multiple manufacturing techniques where explored (such as CNC machining, 3D Printing or CFRP techniques).

    • Powertrain Engineer
      • Oct 2019 - Jan 2020

Member of the UK's top electric formula student team. During my time as a powertrain engineer, I helped on the new design and of the transmission system and motor configuration of the TBRe20 vehicle, which would compete in FSUK 2020. My role included working towards a new design that would help reduce the current design's weight by performing FEA on assemblies and by carefully selecting a material that would ensure the reliability of the component at operating stresses and temperatures. Relevant safety factors were also taken into account to ensure the validity of our results. • Engineering Intern
      • Sep 2018 - Jun 2019

Internship in a cross functional role for the Engineering/Design/Production Departments in the Aerospace Division. My aim is to extract insights from data produced from our R&D, Quality and Production departments working closely with managers and engineers. My main responsibility is to produce CAD models/drawings for the parts our customers such as Airbus, Boeing or GKN require using CATIA V5/6. We produce NC programs to later allow our 3,4 and 5 axis machines manufacture precisely the parts. I also participated and supported managers and directors on ongoing projects throughout the year concerning the design of new, incoming projects.Key Job Outcomes• Extracting and integrating data from various sources into relational databases• Identifying where and how additional data sources can be added to the R&D process• Working closely with the Production and Design teams on making improvements to the MRP system• Applying machine learning tools and statistical techniques to identify insights, in collaboration with engineers• Outside of R&D, supporting staff in identifying a solution roadmap for their production data• Working in a close-knit, agile and cross-functional team with a broad strategic remit• Participating in team meetings, discussions and reviews, preparing and presenting updates as required• Support Managers in ongoing projects as and when required.

    • Summer Intern
      • Jul 2017 - Aug 2017

During my summer placement in Congelados de Navarra, I worked along with a mechanical engineer evaluating all of the industrial processes carefully. As a result, I had to model, test and install the new technological improvements designed. This experience allowed me to work effectively under pressure by completing all my work within the strict deadlines imposed and by achieving great results from the improvements established. Furthermore, the need of communication between all the different departments of the company was crucial in order to assess successfully every process taking place.
