Evaluate and treat a wide range of conditions including medical surgery, total joint replacement, cancer, spinal fractures, traumatic brain injury, cerebrovascular accident, polytrauma, and West Nile Virus. Design and record patient-centered treatment plans to restore, maintain, and improve functional mobility, alleviate pain, prevent further disability, and increase independence with activities of daily living. Collaborate with patient treatment teams including physicians, physical therapists, speech therapists, nursing, and case management to provide excellent and holistic care to the patient and their family. Assist with the treatment and standardized assessments for premature and drug exposed infants in the NICU for feeding, swallowing, positioning, and reaching developmental milestones.

Managed a caseload of 25 children ages 19 months-25 years old that I was responsible for creating individualized treatment plans, recording their weekly progress, updating their goals, and providing evidence based interventions. Utilized interprofessional collaboration with speech therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapy assistants, assistive technology specialists, and parents to optimize client progress and experience. Provided client-centered interventions to increase occupational performance for children with various barriers to participation including impaired tonicity, sensory processing dysfunction, epilepsy, poor oral motor skills, decreased upper extremity strength and coordination, problem feeding, and impaired cognition.
