I had the honor of working with Jordi while at Univision's Fusion Media Group (FMG) during the exclusive media partnership between Fusion and the Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Awards. A change of leadership took place after our initial meeting with the Ali team, and Jordi immediately stepped up to the plate while simultaneously beginning Univision's new music / social avenue, Trackrecord. I was in constant awe of Jordi's ability to balance both loads, while still dedicating himself to the Ali team by staying in constant communication, building a strong team for execution, overseeing development and outreach strategies. His ability to deliver an incredible product, while motivating his team and keeping the partners fulfilled in the agreement was no small feat, but he delivered above and beyond original goals. Additionally, watching Jordi build Trackrecord as a unique music site, delivering content competitors often overlook, was very inspiring. Jordi is an incredibly kind and motivational leader and it was such a pleasure working with him.

One of my greatest pleasures during my time at Fusion Media Group was getting the chance to get to know, and collaborate with, Jordi Oliveres. When I first met Jordi, he was an ambitious journalist, working on a series about Albert Einstein amidst the 100th anniversary of Einstein's theory of general relativity. We brainstormed ways in which he might get that series out to the people who would care most deeply about educating the public about Einstein's work. And, though his hard work and relationship management skills, the series was a major success. I had the opportunity to see Jordi's passion from then on manifest itself in several ways--in developing a series around the Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Awards and then in creating and launching a music journalism brand called TrackRecord. Jordi was especially open to experimenting with new formats for storytelling and in developing co-production relationships with outside partners that challenged the ways that Univision had traditionally conducted the development process. Whether for TrackRecord, or future projects to come, I look forward to seeing what Jordi will give us. But I know he'll do it with intense curiosity and a collaborative spirit.
