In my final year of study I completed a 10 week placement at the Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre working in the inpatient setting with Amputee, Acquired Brain Injury and Neuro patients. Through this I gained time management skills in managing my own caseload of 2-4 patients and furthermore, was able to develop my skills in clinical reasoning as I took on the responsibility of leading their intervention and overall rehabilitation. Across two semesters of university, I had the opportunity to work as a Project Manager alongside Living Life Support Services (LLSS). They provide support for young adults with disabilities through their 1:1 care, young adult day programs and short term accommodation facility. In this role I was able to facilitate a project and collaborate closely with the LLSS staff and participants. Through utilising a co-design approach, we developed an all-accessible sensory garden at their short term accommodation facility.Together with the participants, we were able to increase the accessibility of their garden space and consequently, enhance engagement in outdoor activities, through providing modifications such as building raised garden beds and a sensory board.
