I was lucky enough to have Jordan ask to be my assistant director for the New Play Workshop Program at Syracuse University. I was coming to the University to direct the first workshop of the new musical Falling to Earth by Tom Gualtieri and David Sisco. I had not planned nor asked for an assistant, but Jordan pursued me and the position and I was impressed with his tenacity and agreed to take him on. Jordan proved to be an excellent assistant. His directorial instincts are great and he quickly learned how to contribute in a way that was both constructive and respectful. His comments and suggestions were extremely insightful and many of his ideas and suggestions made it into the final production. Despite his young age, he has an air of authority. And I was so comfortable with him I let him run a rehearsal without me present. He had the respect of both the cast and creative team. I have no doubt Jordan will be a great director, or whatever other position he decides to pursue in the theatre. I recommend him highly. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me. I would be happy to tell you more great things about him.
