Melissa Nikolic
Jordan is the current co-chair for the Georgia BioEd Institute advisory board. As the recent former Director of Programming I count Jordan as one of the reasons for the Institute's success. As part of a small task force of advisory board members recruited to develop our 5 year strategic plan, Jordan supported the endeavor with smart metrics planning (literally with S.M.A.R.T goal planning - specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely). His contribution put us on the road to measurable success. Additionally, I have worked with Jordan for 2 years at the Atlanta Science Festival and his indefatigable work to celebrate science in all it's myriad forms in Atlanta is a truly laudable endeavor. His impact will be felt for years to come and I am proud to have called Jordan colleague and friend.

Jordan is helping us develop an outreach program in our department here at Emory. He has been accessible, communicative and extremely knowledgeable about biomedical outreach in our community. I directed the Academic Year Experience of the Emory Pipeline Collaborative (EPiC), a Health Careers Opportunity Program funded by the U.S. Health Services and Research Administration, to prepare disadvantaged high school students for entry into health professions. EPiC is a comprehensive three-year continuum of learning, mentoring, college preparation, and health profession exposure activities. High school students are matched with undergraduate mentors and explore health sciences topics together with medical, public health, and other graduate students.
