I am responsible for booking a range of appointments for patients with doctors and nurses and handling confidential patient information.Answering the phones, dealing with requests from patients and different healthcare sectors and legal companies. Completing tasks set by doctors and nurses in a timely manner so as not to affect patient care. Opening the surgery and setting up before patients arrive and the phone lines open and closing at the end of the day.Processing the post that arrives each day and organising it for scanning into patient records or re-directing it to staff.Taking payments for treatments and paperwork. Processing forms and reports that arrive at the surgery for the doctors to complete. Answering a variety of emails from patients and organisations – ranging from prescription and medical requests to enquiries about medical reports and records.Handling complaints procedures. I am a trained chaperone; therefore, I am asked by doctors to be present during intimate examinations in order to provide reassurance and security for the patient and doctor.

During my time working with the University, my role involved analysing data from the United Kingdom Engagement Survey and the National Student Survey to use in reports for the university. I was tasked with reading through thousands of comments from students, categorising them for the thematic analysis, and then using the data from this analysis to develop graphs and tables visualising key information. I also wrote two reports that the University used. In the front of house team, I helped those who came in with food vouchers to collect parcels. The first thing that we did was to offer people a drink and a snack. After this, we had to talk about the details of their voucher, including what they need and how many people are in their household. Then, we take the voucher into the warehouse so the warehouse team and arrange their parcel. Often, people like and need to talk about their circumstances, so we provide emotional support and as much advice as we can, if not we refer them to the relevant service that can help them.In the warehouse team, I was required to adhere to the precise regulations concerning weighing products that came in, and those that left the warehouse. As well as making parcels for individuals and families.
