      Project Leader for a student run society called ANTS ( A nice time on Saturday). The project is funded by a number of the university's charitable societies, it gives local children suffering from bereavement the opportunity to engage in fun filled events and for their parents to join a community of families in a similar position to their own. It does so by providing a full day of activities for children on a monthly basis, which include arts and crafts, treasure hunts inside students union building whilst also trips around Sheffield and surrounding area.My role included :Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children who attended ANTSRecruiting and training volunteersOrganising and negotiating trips and costsLiaising with parents/carers Writing risk assessments Regular meeting with the project facilitator Making budget plans Show less

      Adur Special Needs Project is a Shoreham-by-Sea registered charity providing out of school clubs and activities for children and young people with a diverse range of special needs. My first year of work was voluntary but was offered the job when the position became available. - Involved planning the annual activities with my colleagues. -Having to lead sessions in absence supervisor and with my suggested activities. - Had to ensure all children needs were met and were safe whilst making it fun for a number of activities throughout session. -Communicating with staff, parents, children and also to trustees and administrators.
