"BSU" stands for "Black Student Union". My job in this club was to help spread awareness on African American Culture. I joined this club because I wanted people to know more about black history, and I wanted to have the experience of being a leader. I also joined this club because it stood for love and acceptance. Our club meetings were held in the multipurpose room where we spoke to our peers about historical black events. I helped raise money for meetings by selling hats, beanies, and t-shirts. This club impacted my life in a positive way, I met amazing people and I learned a lot from people sharing their stories. Show less

"ABF" stands for "Ayala Basketball Fundraiser". My job for this fundraiser was to raise money for our basketball program so we could have better gear. I served customers at Apple Bees, if they wanted food, or beverages I had to serve them. I took this job because I wanted to be able to provide my teammates with better basketball attire, and to satisfy my coach. I helped by cleaning dishes, opening and closing doors for others, and selling basketball gear. Working at Apple Bees was great experience, and it showed me what's like to have a real job. Show less

"WCS" stands for "Watts Community Service". My job was to serve food, and clothes to the less fortunate in the Watts community. I decided to take part in this community service because I care deeply about the less fortunate, I don't like to see people struggle. With the help of my church members I was able to provide food and water to over 200 people. Doing community service for Watts was definitely a life lesson, it reminded me of how fortunate I am.
