Jul 2011 - Sep 2011
Gained first-hand lab experience outside of an academic environment. Due to the nature of the specimens, patient sensitivity and confidentiality was essential. I was also able to witness a post-mortem which enabled me to greatly refine a professional attitude towards case work. Routine duties included receipt of patient specimens, maintaining of laboratory equipment, specimen analysis documentation, work well within the team to meet deadlines, post-mortem observation, histology sample preparation for analysis.
