Being a part of a family business is a rewarding, challenging and overall, incredible experience. My family and I have worked extremely hard to get to where we and the business are today. Throughout my time working at the Shack, I’ve learned how to balance professionalism with family. It’s not always easy working with a parent, sometimes you click while other times you constantly bicker; yet, I’ve come to understand that each decision, argument and opinion exchanged were for the Shack. I have loved watching what was once my father’s dream turn into a thriving business.

During my final semester at ASU, I took a Public Relations Campaigns course. The purpose of this course was to prepare PR students with the knowledge of creating a successful campaign for an organization. My classmates and I were fortunate enough to work with a great local brewery, Booneshine, and luckily put together a strong campaign book for our client. • May 2016 - Jun 2016

During 28 day abroad program, I experienced the history, culture and lifestyle of Paris, France, specifically within the fashion, design and art industries. From taking a tour of Versailles to walking the floors of the Louvre, I gained incredible knowledge that has helped me grow as a person. My days went from learning how to knit to hand-stitching lace to creating my own couture house, all the while living my life as a Parisian. It was a month of my life I will cherish forever. Other activities included: making hats, skirts, fascinators and headdresses, and eyewear.
