  Having lived for four years in the US with my family, I have been responsible for the Business Development of Waste-To-Energy ( or read: Energy-from-Waste ) ash-recycling projects. In these years, we started an initial project with a client on the East Coast. Soon after, we founded a Joint Venture with the second largest WTE-operator and constructed it's two currently successfully running projects. Finally, we won a Public Private Partnership tender and constructed a complete indoor ash-recycling project in Lancaster PA, which was commissioned smoothly and is running smoothly now since the beginning of 2019.   Crossing " the pond " as representative of our Dutch start-up parent and helping found a local US subsidiary, team and business process was a major learning experience. Where many young start-ups fail with such a giant leap, we are proud to say that now in 2019, we employ approx 40 colleagues in 4 projects, which process over a million tons of ash every year. My role was a combination of Liaison towards our Dutch team and the Business Developer for the North American region.
