I've known Joon-Nie for the last 20 years, from the time I was BizIT Editor@The Business Times. She's a GEM: * Gifted: As a journalist & a communicator. I remember her as the first tech journalist on local TV who produced numerous scoops, including the first Internet defamation case in Singapore heard in a court, and IP theft of digital art. * Efficient: At multi-tasking & solutioning. At WAN-IFRA, she organizes dozens of events with news publishers & tech companies. She's been VP@Singapore Press Club for the past 16 years and set up a US$700K multimedia training newsroom@NTU. * Manager: Of people & performance. She has excellent people-management skills. She co-founded Hacks/Hackers Singapore & organised hackathons, ideathons, conferences, and training programs involving media, industry players, government and the courts. We continue to collaborate in the tech/media space to spread awareness of data privacy & cybersecurity.
