Joohee (Yuna) Lee worked as a Peer Advisor from August 2009 until May 2011 in the Center for International Education (formerly called the Office of International Academic Services). Her responsibilities included recruiting and advising students on UMW study abroad programs and third-party provider programs, assisting students through the application, pre-departure, and re-entry processes; designing and implementing marketing materials such as T-shirt designs and brochures; and hosting information sessions. As a peer advisor, Yuna also provided support to international exchange and degree seeking students studying at UMW. The highlight of her time working at our office was developing a relationship between our office and the International Living Center (ILC), which is a conceptual living community on the UMW campus. As the President of ILC, Yuna coordinated the arrival of international students and helped students get settled on campus. She arranged the welcome event and the farewell event for international students, and a myriad of other events for participation during the academic year.
