Openpay is an Australian (Melbourne) fintech company operating in the burgeoning buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) space. As the Head of New Markets, I was charged with the responsibility of broadening Openpay's operations into non-traditional markets and industries. • Worked with all internal stakeholders including risk, finance, legal, tech and marketing to refine and then take to market the standard Openpay product making it suitable for both education and the sports registration payment sectors. • Officially launched new education vertical with 50+ education merchants and ultimately the signing of the first BNPL product in the Australian University system (RMIT). • Soft launched Openpay into the sport membership and education sectors by signing 100+ bronze level merchants. Account managed the merchants to ensure a successful rollout that resulted in well above average consumer uptake. • Officially launched new memberships vertical by signing 2 major enterprise-level integration partnerships. These partnerships gave Openpay access to significant sections of the community sport and golf industries. • Created business case to enable Openpay plans to automatically renew, making Openpay’s buy now, pay later product suited to professional and industry membership organisation and a perfect (and better) alternative to existing direct debit facilities.
