As resident H&S manager my role consists of but not limited too: Inducting all operatives for Steve Hoskin Construction, Fred Champion Groundworks and all other trades and personnel while working under responsibility, of the SHC F10. Checking all qualifications of all operatives coming to the site. Reviewing all risk assessments and method statements, recommending alterations and/ or updates as required, refusing access and work until all is correct, and in order. Monitoring all trade and operative activities for compliance to RAM’s, CEMP, planning conditions, traffic and walkway plans. Drawing up traffic plans and pedestrian routes. Conducting toolbox talks. Investigating accidents, incidents, near misses and then reporting on the immediate, underlying and root causes. Attending weekly site manager meetings and following up on any issues raised. Compiling monthly H&S progress reports. Liaising with project managers, site managers, principal designers and estate managers on all aspects of work. Issuing permits to break ground, confined space works and hot works permits. Supervising demolition, infrastructure and remediation work of asbestos and TPH contaminated land. Applying for water abstraction/ impoundment licenses. Consulting with the Environment agency. Site inspections. Senior assessor for leading SSIP assessment company. My role included advising members of the assessment teams and team leaders. Assessing the management system and competencies of varying sized construction contractors, principal contractors, designers, CDMC's/ principal designers with the introduction of CDM 2015, health and safety consultants and non construction companies who required an SSiP accreditation. I have conducted in excess of 1700 stage one assessments of various companies and trades, against the Core Criteria of the CDM regulations 2015. Show less
