Opta Sports is a company that provides statistics across all levels of rugby competitions for broadcasters e.g. BT Sport and professional sports clubs and organisations such as RugbyWorldCup.com. Matches where statistics were captured and analysis was provided, range from the Rugby World Cup, Six Nations and Super Rugby to the Aviva Premiership and all professional leagues around the world. Accurate statistics for all matches is what the company provides to its customers, so every part of my job from coding live statistics and putting them up onto various websites to analyzing the games, had to be 100% accurate. My job as an Analyst required excellent IT skills and the ability to concentrate for long periods of time and input information quickly and effectively. I was involved in providing match statistics for the 2015 Rugby World Cup which was the largest sporting event globally of 2015. Communication skills were vital as well as having an understanding of what was happening on the field to make sure the data captured was correct. Requirements for Opta:- Analytical skills- Attention to detail- Clear communication skills- Excellent use of Windows Programs- Ability to work in a team environment- Good understanding of rugby union

My role involved serving customers looking to relax after their shopping and making their experience as comfortable as possible. I made and served a variety of hot and cold drinks, snacks and small hot meals. Each shift involved close attention to cleaning, serving to high standards of quality customer service and engaging with customers regardless of whether they were in a hurry to be served or were looking for conversation and a place to spend a few hours of their day.
