Jonny is a great guy to know and work with with. He has all the technical engineering skills and talent to deliver and add value to any design or management role. More importantly, and what makes Jonny stand out from the crowd, is he is highly entrepreneurial and he thinks and cares deeply about everything he works on. Incredibly hard working, honest and not afraid to face difficult situations and challenges. Highly recommended and a great asset to any venture.

My role as an Advanced Design Engineer in NPI is to lead a project from its inception, through to a fully functional prototype ready for transfer to development teams. I have had the opportunity to work on a range of categories which are confidential. I build strategic visions, identify credible problems, needs and opportunities and research unknown new areas.I help drive a project from the bottom up in all areas such as; Motors, Acoustics, Drives, Visuals, compliance and electronics. My day to day role includes designing and problem solving through prototyping, sketching, 3D CAD and brainstorming as well as managing a vast amount of ideas to communicate to the whole business and progress efficiently. Additionally, an important stage in NPI is to characterise and quantify benefits and claims to help construct patents. Show less

Dyson is about solving everyday problems: vacuum cleaners that clog and lose suction, hand dryers that are energy hungry and don't work, and fans that chop the air. At Dyson, Design Engineers undertake a long and iterative process - trying something over and over, changing one small variable at a time. Trial and error. We make a lot of prototypes - quickly getting a feel for things and uncovering subtle design flaws you don't get from a computer screen.A very different challenge as an NPD Design Engineer at Dyson is to develop products from proven concept (NPI) through to Pre-production (tooling). I have worked on very successful products ranging from ‘Environmental’, ‘Commercial’ and ‘Corded Vacuum’s’. Show less
