Any discussion I have with Jonne is always refreshing, interesting and insightful. I find his approach to marketing to be proactive, whilst placing a strong emphasis on achieving his predefined objectives. Having delivered a joint presentation with Jonne to a group of independent school headteachers, I found his research methods and branding strategy for St Mary's College to be particularly interesting and effective.

I currently work as Director of Marketing, Admissions & Development at St. Mary’s College, an independent Catholic school for boys and girls of all faiths aged 0-18 situated in Crosby, Liverpool. Since my appointment in 2010, I have successfully raised the profile of St. Mary’s College locally, regionally and internationally. I play a key role in the attraction and recruitment of new pupils at all levels into the school and I am also responsible for alumni fundraising and other development activity. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, I am responsible for the development and implementation of successful marketing, admissions and development strategies across all three phases of the school and for ensuring the effective promotion of our key messages externally. I coordinate the presentation of all marketing materials, including four websites, multiple social media channels, prospectuses, advertising, newsletters and other literature. I am responsible for all PR and communications activity, including media relations, and also organise key events such as open events, taster days and alumni events.

I worked for The Mersey Partnership (now called the Liverpool City Region LEP), the official inward investment, economic development and tourism agency for the Liverpool City Region, between 2007 and 2010. As Investor Development Manager, I was responsible for promoting Liverpool City Region to potential investors throughout the UK and internationally and supporting companies with their investments. I was responsible for developing and promoting Liverpool’s value propositions, particularly in the Visitor Economy and Financial, Professional & Business Services sectors. I provided content for the official investment website InvestLiverpoolCityRegion.com and also assisted colleagues responsible for the official tourism website VisitLiverpool.com. I pro-actively targeted potential investors and created bespoke marketing collateral. I hosted investor visits to showcase available sites & premises and provided information regarding recruitment & training support, financial assistance, infrastructure, education, lifestyle etc. I offered project management support with investment projects and developed strong, strategic relationships with investors to provide long-term support and encourage growth and reinvestment. Prior to my promotion to Investor Development Manager in 2008, I worked on the Tourism Development Team as Tourism Skills Executive. I supported tourism and hospitality businesses across Liverpool City Region by discussing their skills, training and recruitment needs and identifying ways of meeting those needs.

Before joining The Mersey Partnership, I worked in the travel industry as a Team Leader for US Airways in the airline’s European Contact Centre. Using my English, Dutch, German, French and Spanish language skills, I provided leadership and support to a team of around 70 Reservation Sales Agents. I was responsible for promoting outstanding customer service, monitoring performance and providing coaching and feedback to agents on a one-to-one basis. I took an active part in recruitment by interviewing candidates and devised and carried out language tests for prospective new employees. I attended travel industry trade fairs and succeeded in building excellent relationships with internal and external clients and partners around Europe and in the USA.
