Jon is an extremely technically minded person who maintains an intellectual stake in all facets of what he does. He also brings a certain level of zeal and enthusiasm in his day-to-day work, which in turn boosts the moral of those who work around him!

Alex Clark

Jon is a driven, motivated, naturally inclusive leader and was great asset to the engineering team. He cared very much for the quality of work produced and established processes that had a direct, positive impact on the software releases. Jon is a fantastic mentor with a positive attitude and good sense of humour that made the environment more enjoyable for those around him. In addition to his natural leaderships skills, Jon also has deep technical knowledge and a rare ability to keep track of many details and moving parts in complex software applications. I really enjoyed working with Jon and found him to be a great asset to the company.

I was the Director of Engineering at Open Ocean Robotics, a company that develops autonomous, solar energy-harvesting boats to collect information from our oceans and instantly relay it. Their goal is to protect our oceans, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and build an Internet of Things for the ocean. Open Ocean Robotics' mission is to build the world’s most advanced ocean robots with a focus on safety, reliability and repeatable performance. The technology teams specialize in creating mobile data-collecting platforms that can remain indefinitely in inhospitable ocean environments. I build and lead the electronics and software engineering teams. I served as a systems architect and helped manage the software architecture. I was also responsible for ensuring that design requirements were met, oversaw the consistency of user experiences, and managed a team of engineers and developers. Aiding in the development of the company strategy and product strategy, I also managed the technical roadmap and was responsible for co-developing the technical strategy. Maintaining the technical roadmap ensured that OOR continued to innovate from a technical standpoint and ensured they were working on the highest priority features, to meet their obligations to their customers.
