  Provide rehabilitation and relief to over 3,700 injured and orphaned avian, mammal, and reptile life per year. Develop and administer treatment plans including medication choices, evaluating and performing admissions, wound management, fracture management, diet and nutrition for each animal. Assist staff veterinarian with advanced treatments and surgeries as well as independently perform blood sampling, limb immobilization, x-rays, and euthanasia if necessary. Skills include but are not limited to: tube and bottle feeding mammals, gavage feeding, IM, PO, and SQ fluid and medicine administration, emergency first-aid, large and small animal handling, outdoor land and water rescues, and release evaluation. Simultaneously train and guide up to 6 volunteers and up to 4 interns, while congruently manning a hotline to provide information and direction to concerned callers. Maintain accurate logs for all animals including sanctuary residents and data entry for yearly reports to maintain state and federal rehabilitation permits. Responsible for ordering food and medical supplies, cataloging donations, hurricane preparation, giving educational programs, as well as interviewing and hiring interns for the clinic.
