Senior Advisor Market Operations

Jun 2020 - Jun 2022
Having excelled within my Advisor role for just over 8 years, I moved into the Senior Advisor Market Operations role which allowed me to manage my existing tasks and functions while diversifying into a leadership and mentoring role. • Project Management – Applying and utilising traditional and Agile project management techniques while project managing, planning and delivering market and system changes, oversee budgets, allocate resources and provide direction, guidance and oversight to all team members. • Electricity Price Review (C2) – Instrumental in the success of the Electricity Authority’s response to the Electricity Price Review consumer recommendations. Set and led the direction and delivery of electricity legislation and developed guidelines within a 5-week timeframe while proactively seeking ways to challenge traditional thinking and improve engagement with consumers and industry stakeholders.• Relationship Management – Cultivate and foster industry relationships, liaise with key role-players and gain a clear understanding of the risks and challenges facing the industry to ensure long-term, sustainable success.• Subject Matter Expert - Showcase a strong working knowledge of the Electricity Industry Participation Code (EIPC), provide technical advice and analytics to enable informed planning and deliver all information while remaining mindful of the audience and their industry knowledge. • Audits – Oversee the certification regime within the organisation. Excel as a subject matter expert while mentoring the staff members overseeing the audit and certification regime.• Operational Reviews – Analyse the day-to-day operations of the market, identify risk factors and opportunities and liaise with the management team to make the appropriate changes and adjustments in daily operations while remaining mindful of plans, financial pressures and organisational priorities. Adviser Market Operations

Nov 2012 - Jun 2020
In this role, I was responsible for managing the Electricity Authority’s audit regime while managing projects and providing technical advice, expert support and guidance on the Electricity Industry Participation Code. • Electricity Legislation Amendments & Improvements – Consistently investigated and identified risks within Electricity Legislation (namely the Electricity Industry Participation Code-EIPC), developed, project-managed and implemented projects to deliver the appropriate amendments and improvements to the Code and communicated these changes to all relevant stakeholders. • Audits – Co-ordinated, led and managed internal and external audits, developed and ran a comprehensive certification regime within the organisation. Utilised hands-on experience as a specialist electricity industry external auditor and ISO 9001:2008 internal auditor to improve audit outcomes and reduce the need for more frequent audits. • Stakeholder Engagement – Developed and maintained robust professional relationships with the FTR Manager, industry participants, team members and consumers.• Compliance – Undertook regular compliance and regulatory reviews of industry participants against the EIPC, proactively developed and amended EIPC requirements, identified and investigated non-conformance and developed strategies to drive compliance creating an innate risk awareness with all participants.• Board & Management Reporting – Developed and presented comprehensive reports to the Electricity Authority Board, staff members and industry forums. • Coaching & Mentoring – Led a workplace environment with a focus on up-skilling and professional development, coached and mentored team members. • Conflict Resolution – Consistently strived to understand driving factors within participant goals and objectives, collaborated with stakeholders to achieve a mutually satisfactory outcome and communicated all risks to ensure conflict did not pose a risk to existing and future relationships.
