Helped lead a large developer team in pursuing best practices around automated testing and CI, open source contribution, and reducing technical debt. * Built one of the first enterprise Drupal 8 sites in the world for Memorial Sloan Kettering. This project focused on clearing critical core Drupal 8 issues for its eventual stable release. * Initial discovery work and planning for NBA.com launch on Drupal 8. * Enterprise systems architecture for a major multinational fitness company. Initially hired as the sole Drupal developer, I helped transform the company into a prominent Drupal agency as lead developer and DOE. As a developer I contributed to 3 major versions of Drupal core (6, 7, and 8) and released dozens of contributed modules to the community. I pioneered new ways of testing fully-built Drupal sites first with SimpleTest, then with PHPUnit, and finally with the Drupal Behat Extension. I set best practices for Drupal development both at the company and in the outside Drupal community. During my time at the company I built dozens of complex and far-reaching web presences for a range of companies and organizations including Mercy Corps, Portland State University, Oregon Health & Science University, AmeriCorps VISTA, The World Economic Forum, One Economy, The Oregon Zoo, Code.org, The Sierra Club, The Linux Foundation, Tektronix, Fluke Calibration, The Drupal Association, and many others. Managed all data systems for a homeless service agency serving the most vulnerable and chronic of the population. Led software development for CHASERS, an agency management/client tracking system utilizing PostgreSQL, PHP, and Apache. Led database design with a focus on data-integrity, server administration with a focus on performance, high availability and optimization for PostgreSQL and Apache (and Pardox legacy database, until it was merged into CHASERS). Designed many automated transactions for reporting to various government funding agencies (including EDI/HIPAA transactions and XML/SOAP). Customized Bugzilla interface to function as a work order system for both IS and facilities. Customized Mediawiki for internal agency documentation. Designed the CHASERS database for tracking client information for shelter, housing and clinical programs. X-ray scattering research at IBM's Almaden Research Center. Work focused on thin film characterization and analyses via x-ray diffraction and reflectivity. Work consisted of two long-term projects at Caltech's Space Radiation Laboratory. In the first, I designed and implemented tests to catalog performance characteristics for photo-multiplier-tubes and aerogels to be used on a balloon-borne cosmic ray isotope detector. The second project started with my senior honors thesis and culminated in a 3-month grant to continue the project after graduation. My work attempted to derive helium fluxes from the Advanced Composition Explorer satellite. The details involved Monte-Carlo simulations of the detectors, comprehensive data filtering routines programmed in IDL, and modeling of the galactic He3/He4 ratio. Show less
