Jonathan is a wizard. I've worked with many developers over the years and I've never had a more seamless design hand-off. He's fantastic at strategy and collaboration, but my favorite thing about Jonathan is that he's meticulous about the visual details. He's a designer's dream and I love working with him!

I've been working with Drupal developers for most of the last four years in one of the strongest Drupal communities in the country (Portland, OR). I network with Drupallers around the world and have had the honor of working with some of the best. Based on this experience, I have to say that Jonathan might be one of the very strongest Drupal developers in the country. His technical excellence is astounding. But more importantly, he's reliable and a great communicator. It's rare to see that mix of client-facing professionalism and shear awesome Drupal geekery.

Highlights to date: * Managing and mentoring developers and teams. * Developing best practices around testing, local development with Docker, CI/CD with GitLab and Kubernetes, open source contribution as part of daily development workflow, and many other initiatives to improve efficiency and quality of our teams. * Migrated nVent from a variety of legacy systems onto a single platform for their main site and brand sites (www.nvent.com, schroff.nvent.com, raychem.nvent.com, and more). These efforts included Informatica 360 (PIM) integration, Salesforce commerce integration, DAM integration, Coveo search, and dynamic translation at the CDN level via translations.com. * Migrated Workday Community application from an aging, legacy Drupal 6 instance to Drupal 8. Helped lead a large developer team in pursuing best practices around automated testing and CI, open source contribution, and reducing technical debt. * Built one of the first enterprise Drupal 8 sites in the world for Memorial Sloan Kettering. This project focused on clearing critical core Drupal 8 issues for its eventual stable release. * Initial discovery work and planning for NBA.com launch on Drupal 8. * Enterprise systems architecture for a major multinational fitness company. Initially hired as the sole Drupal developer, I helped transform the company into a prominent Drupal agency as lead developer and DOE. As a developer I contributed to 3 major versions of Drupal core (6, 7, and 8) and released dozens of contributed modules to the community. I pioneered new ways of testing fully-built Drupal sites first with SimpleTest, then with PHPUnit, and finally with the Drupal Behat Extension. I set best practices for Drupal development both at the company and in the outside Drupal community. During my time at the company I built dozens of complex and far-reaching web presences for a range of companies and organizations including Mercy Corps, Portland State University, Oregon Health & Science University, AmeriCorps VISTA, The World Economic Forum, One Economy, The Oregon Zoo, Code.org, The Sierra Club, The Linux Foundation, Tektronix, Fluke Calibration, The Drupal Association, and many others. Managed all data systems for a homeless service agency serving the most vulnerable and chronic of the population. Led software development for CHASERS, an agency management/client tracking system utilizing PostgreSQL, PHP, and Apache. Led database design with a focus on data-integrity, server administration with a focus on performance, high availability and optimization for PostgreSQL and Apache (and Pardox legacy database, until it was merged into CHASERS). Designed many automated transactions for reporting to various government funding agencies (including EDI/HIPAA transactions and XML/SOAP). Customized Bugzilla interface to function as a work order system for both IS and facilities. Customized Mediawiki for internal agency documentation. Designed the CHASERS database for tracking client information for shelter, housing and clinical programs. Software design involved PHP, javascript (including AJAX), SQL (including heavy use of procedural languages, triggers and rules), CSS, and HTML. Generalized CHASERS, and then customized for use as a donor tracking system, and also for a measures/locator database for a UW/RWJ study of 1811 Eastlake (http://depts.washington.edu/abrc/housingfirst.htm). X-ray scattering research at IBM's Almaden Research Center. Work focused on thin film characterization and analyses via x-ray diffraction and reflectivity. Responsible for operation and maintenance of X-ray generators and diffractometers. Performed analyses of generated data via custom fitting routines/models. Conducted research and authored custom software for modeling data gathered from thin film porous dielectrics. All findings of any consequence were always prepared and submitted for publication in relevant scientific journals. Expertise in Unix and Linux based environments, extensive experience in C/C++ programming, and a comprehensive implementation of IBM Data Explorer (OpenDX) for the visualization and manipulation of complex 3D data. Work consisted of two long-term projects at Caltech's Space Radiation Laboratory. In the first, I designed and implemented tests to catalog performance characteristics for photo-multiplier-tubes and aerogels to be used on a balloon-borne cosmic ray isotope detector. The second project started with my senior honors thesis and culminated in a 3-month grant to continue the project after graduation. My work attempted to derive helium fluxes from the Advanced Composition Explorer satellite. The details involved Monte-Carlo simulations of the detectors, comprehensive data filtering routines programmed in IDL, and modeling of the galactic He3/He4 ratio. Show less
