  Being part of the team to create the rebirth of the IJGA brand has been challenging and reward. I’m proud of my role within the team which has put this brand back on the map. I instigated and originates a thorough and deep evidence based program with the help of my experience, golf pros and child behaviorists. The program focuses on three things: character, academics and golf. We morph science and evidence with art in the golf program to create a self reliant and robust high achieving golfer. Allied to this has been work in culture realignment and discipline along with business and personnel restructuring in conjunction with other members of the team.

  In 2007 I set out to apply all the knowledge I had gained from my years in teaching to create the Jonathan Yarwood Golf Academy - JYGA – a coaching programme that could improve a player’s game and golfing experience, improve a teaching professional’s skills and have a significant, positive impact on their, and their club's revenue. My JYGA accredited coaches and I pride ourselves on being able to create instant, tangible results using various methods of teaching that can give players of all standards a new confidence to take out onto the course.We have successfully rolled out JYGA programmes at Donnington Grove Golf & Country Club and Stoke Park in the UK and are keen to work with more likeminded coaches and clubs who are passionate about the quality of their teaching, and keen to stand out as industry leaders in the field of golf instruction.

I have trained current coaches to tour level, creating tangible results and improvements of the students through these coaches. Also strived to create strong brand standards and coach harmony through structure and continuity of message during training. Lastly, developed a three level certification programme which is well received. Rolling out the programme to a sister academy shortly.

Teach The Teacher

  The Teach The Teacher programme is a series of one day seminars with myself and JYGA’s Matt Woods and is a unique opportunity for teaching golf pros to tap into the brain of a 20 year Tour coach, and learn some of the coaching methods that have brought great success to a range of players. We limit each day to six students to ensure maximum teaching time and 1-on-1 interaction, to give everyone the opportunity to ask questions throughout, and really immerse themselves in the day. The course is open to all, to anyone wanting to be a better teacher.
