  As healthcare sector lead for Stantec in the UK, I was responsible for developing and directing local and international projects for both public and private sector clients. The projects I led included community clinics, mental health units, and tertiary hospitals. I worked in strategic advisory roles for NHS clients. My involvement in the varied range of healthcare projects delivered by Stantec encompassed strategic masterplanning, new-build and remodelling. Key projects included: Tavistock Centre (London), Guy’s Cancer Centre (London), Health and Wellness Hubs (Barking-Dagenham Havering and Redbridge), Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (Toronto), Clinical Support Building, Morriston Hospital (Swansea), Royal Victoria Infirmary (Newcastle).

  As the healthcare lead for the practice I built the team and workload around mental healthcare, primary and community care, and acute hospitals over a period of 15 years. Amongst the highlights is the Bluestone Adult Mental Health Unit at Craigavon in Northern Ireland, which won the award for the best mental health project of the year in the Building Better Health Awards 2008. Key projects include: Design and Technical Advisor to Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Trust for a £320m PFI on two sites (Central Notts), Biosciences Building – teaching and academic research – at The University of Liverpool, Mental Health Re-provision Projects (7 units) for South Bedfordshire NHS community mental health services.
