I serve as the senior fire fighter for the 430th ENG FFTM in the North Carolina Army National Guard. In my primary role as fire fighter I have many responsibilities and task. I must be able to maintain and operate all of the equipment on our truck and be able to direct the other fire fighter on the back of the truck. I must make decisions on fire attack, which hand lines and tools to be deployed, and communications. I must know the truck inside and out and be able to make decisions on which tools and equipment to use in a high stress environment. I am also responsible for keeping myself informed on all of the new fire fighting strategies that come out and keep myself educated when off duty. I am responsible for life preservation and property conservation while conducting aircraft fire fighting, structural fire fighting, wild land fire fighting, and various rescue operations. During aircraft rescue I am responsible for conducting proper aircraft shutdown procedures and rescuing everyone off the aircraft as quickly as possible. To help do this I assist with training our squad in both aircraft rescue and in structural fire fighting techniques, as well as getting as much hands on training as possible. My main responsibility no matter what is the safety of my crew and ensuring everyone goes home. Show less

    • Team Lead/ Trainer
      • Oct 2012 - Nov 2015

I served as a Team Lead & Training Manager with InMotion Entertainment for over 3 years. My tasks as a sales professional involved greeting customers and quickly identifying their needs. I then confidently presented the appropriate product to the customer in a professional manner that bestowed trust and competence and when applicable, I knowledgeably informed the customer on the benefits of going with a higher quality product that would not only meets their needs, but greatly exceed it. As a Training Manager my duty was to produce competent and professional employees that were not just knowledgeable but also prideful in the products we offered. I was in charge of not only ensuring compliance with company mandated training modules but also to create training scenarios and material which includes the 25+ page guide that was later adopted by the company itself. As a Team Lead my job was to lead by example and always maintain a positive outlook. I was to educate, motivate and teach employees, by personal example, how important it was to bestow a powerful and lasting positive first impression on both new and repeat customers alike. I took great pride in ensuring that every customer either I, or any of my staff, engaged with was met with an overwhelmingly positive experience. In addition to leading by example I was tasked with preparing daily deposits, occasionally monitoring stores CCTV and ensuring on time opening and/or closing of the store. Show less

I served as an Investigative Aid for Alcoholic Beverage Control, when requested, for 4 years. My duty was to travel, either by personal vehicle or passenger, with an investigative team that went to various locations that offered either tobacco or alcoholic products and determine if they are correctly upholding the legal age restriction laws. If a company was not properly upholding compliance, I was to complete a detailed documentation of the event and then if needed attend court hearing as witness. Show less

    • Life Guard
      • May 2007 - Aug 2007

I served as Life Guard for Elkhorn City during the summer of 2006. This was my first actual job and it was one I took great pride in. I arrived every shift early and ensured the pool area as well as patron sitting area was safe of any harmful objects or materials before any patrons arrived. During my shift I maintained a watchful eye, with the assistance of my other Life Guard on duty, for any potentially harmful or dangerous activities. When an occurrence did happen I provided swift and decisive action to immediate remedy the situation. Rather that be providing something as serious as life saving CPR or as minor instructing children not to run, I took pride in ensuring that every patron that comes to my establishments leaves healthy and as safely as they arrived and have confidence that if an event were to arise they would be taken care of by a professional.
