During a typical day shift on the job, my employees and I on the front end are taking care of our customers in every way possible. Our store is about half normal checkouts and half self checkouts. While I am responsible for assisting my cashiers if they have any problems with transactions, I am also looking out for any customers having issues on their own at the self checkouts. This is a non-stop job, along with keeping all the registers clean for the safety of everyone in this pandemic. If I am not in charge of the front end, I am working in the back room to get product out to the shelves. I usually have many other employees at the store to help me accomplish whatever tasks we have for the day. We work as a team to get projects done and I delegate tasks accordingly. I also help out in our Aisles Online department whenever it is needed. This is where we shop orders to deliver to customers or for them to pickup. On top of what's written above, I was trained on how to write the employee schedule for the front end of the store. I have been writing the schedule for about 7 months now. It has proved to be a challenge for me, but I have enjoyed working with my employees to overcome those challenges week after week. Show less

Hazleton, Pennsylvania, United States This was a temporary position as a Warehouse Associate. I was hired through Abacus Staffing but worked at a warehouse for Wegmans. Our team was mainly responsible for picking orders in the General Merchandise section, but we frequently assisted with the grocery side as well. The job consisted of taking pallets around the aisles of the warehouse, stacking product on them, and wrapping them to prepare for shipping. The job consisted of taking pallets around the aisles of the warehouse, stacking product on them, and wrapping them to prepare for shipping. Along with that, I gained experience in logistics while I was there. I learned how to drive a forklift so that I could load/unload semi trucks when they arrived at or departed from the warehouse. I was able to use the packing lists and bills of lading to verify the type and amount of products that we received. Show less
