Job involves - - Working each week with a new intake of students (group and individual lessons)- Working with different nationalities and different profiles of learners (beginners to experts, different ages, different job titles - I've worked with Mcdonald's director of Paris branches, Pharmacists, doctors, farmers, sales agents and many other different professions)- Working on key skills with the learners to improve presentation, negotiation, meeting and other skills- Evaluation and follow up on feedback for each student- Animation of students during the breaks and meals - overseeing debates and conversation to help the learners improve and communicate with other students- Evening activities to allow students to put their English into practice in real life situations in a relaxed environment

Head of the English Department (CERAN Juniors)

During the summer, my role as HOD saw me working with a team of 30+ of which I had to train and manage. Day to day tasks included the running of the English courses for up to 120 students each week, the management of the teaching team and various admin tasks. I was trusted to work independently and run the department.The job involved -- Working closely and to co-ordinate with my superiors (the Director of the Juniors and the Director of CERAN Belgium)- Overseeing the courses of up to 120 students for 9 weeks during the summer holidays- Running a department of up to 30 teachers for the duration of the summer holiday- Teacher training- Daily admin tasks- Dealing with any problems, be it staff or students- Classroom observations- Inter-department meetings with French and dutch speakers- Striving for better results each summer in relation to satisfaction figures- Putting together and managing in house materials - eg. find articles, games and media for teachers to use in class
