In my teaching practice, I aim to be clear with my expectations, kind in my actions and purposeful in my intentions. To provide students with the opportunity for optimum learning, I seek to prepare my lessons thoroughly by integrating necessary scaffolds for learning, as well as implementing differentiation based on the individual needs of the students. I also seek to implement daily, the “I do, we do, you do” workshop model of education, with a focus on explicit instruction. Through active modeling and constant interaction with my students, I will be able to model the goals I seek to teach and provide immediate feedback to encourage student academic growth.Daily, I show up early and seek to express a positive, encouraging and welcoming spirit to everyone I interact throughout the day. Though I certainly am not perfect, I seek to have a learning spirit with a growth mindset and adapt my perspective and attitude as is necessary.

I created and facilitated activities for the afterschool 2nd and 3rd grade participants at Westwood Elementary.
