  Responsibilities include oversight and research of Facility policies for the Agency for Health Care Administration, which serves as the administrator of the Florida Medicaid program. Areas of specific oversight include:• Inpatient/Outpatient Hospitals• Ambulatory Surgical Centers• Nursing Facilities• Intermediate Care FacilitiesActivities include:• Conducting research on assigned topics, including, but not limited to: performing a review of peer-reviewed research articles, federal and state laws, other reliable sources of evidence, the Florida Medicaid State Plan, Agency communications, State Medicaid Director Letters, and vendor contracts.• Analyzing health care/program related information (including alternative financing and reimbursement strategies) in order to determine the effect on the Florida Medicaid program and compliance with federal and state laws.• Perform analysis and development of programmatic and fiscal impact statements based on proposed federal/state program or policy changes.• Remain informed about the operations of the Medicaid fiscal agent (including claims processing), Medicare, national billing guidelines, and reimbursement methodologies.• Develop and maintain program policies and procedures under the Florida Medicaid program to ensure that programs operate in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Agency, federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines.• Serve as a resource in consultation with other Agency personnel on Facilities policy, Federal/State laws, and reimbursement.
